- The Texaco Project Committee and the Rosalia Chamber of Commerce wish to thank the previous owners for their donation of the Texaco building and land: Helen M. Jensen, Velma J. Blakely, Susan Petek, Kathy Luden, John Luden, Cliff Luden and Jodi L. Calhoun.
Ownership History
- The original owner of the Central Service Station (Texaco Products) was Cecil Palmer who opened the station in 1923. In 1925 E.W. Swedin & S.E. Hunter were service station attendants of the Central Service Station
It's unclear if E.W. Swedin & S.E. Hunter became owners, but in the Whitman County Washington Directory of 1939 there is a quarter page advertisement for the following:
- "Central Service Station, your headquarters since 1925 E. W. Swedin and S.E. Hunter. Texaco Certified Service, Registered Rest Rooms, Firestone Products, Phone 010, Rosalia, Wash."
- In 1939 the phone book listed Elmer W. Swedin living in the Home City Hotel (now the Budding Rose Art Gallery) and Sam E. Hunter lived at 537 Whitman, Rosalia, WA
- This Picture was taken circa 1940
